Initial Steps

On Day 1, we confirm the driver’s status and activate the rideshare insurance. This crucial step sets the foundation for your claim.

Day 3

Evidence Preservation

By Day 3, we demand the preservation of app logs and dash cam footage. This evidence is vital for substantiating your claim.

In Week 1, we identify whether personal or commercial coverage applies. This determination is crucial for your compensation.

Week 2-3

Demand and Negotiate

FAQ

Here are some common
questions we receive about
rideshare accidents.

01 Is Uber or Lyft responsible?

It depends on the driver’s status at the time of the crash. If the app was on and the driver was working, Uber or Lyft’s insurance may apply.

Maybe. It depends on when the accident occurred and what the driver was doing at the time. If the driver was between rides with the app off, you’re probably stuck with their personal insurance. If they were actively driving passengers or heading to pick someone up, Uber and Lyft’s policy kicks in. But here’s the catch: these companies have armies of lawyers whose job is to prove their driver wasn’t “on duty” when you got hit. Don’t try to figure this out alone. We know their playbook and how to beat it.

The rideshare company’s insurance may cover you if the driver was logged into the app and working at the time of the crash.

Don’t sign anything. Their first offer is always low, sometimes insultingly low. They’re betting you don’t know what your case is really worth and that you’ll take quick money to make the problem go away. Once you sign their settlement, it’s over; you can’t come back for more when your injuries get worse or your medical bills pile up. Let us review their offer first. We’ve seen rideshare companies offer $5,000 for cases worth $50,000. Don’t leave money on the table because you were in a hurry.

Rideshare cases usually take 6 months to 18 months, sometimes longer if your injuries are serious. These cases are more complex than regular car accidents because we’re dealing with multiple insurance companies: the driver’s personal coverage, Uber or Lyft’s policy, and sometimes other drivers, too. Each company will try to blame the others and avoid paying. We have to untangle that mess, which takes time. But we’d rather take the time to get you paid right than rush you into a cheap settlement. Good cases are worth waiting for.
